The 2026 Lyons Farmers Market will be held in Sandstone Park! Centrally-located in the heart of town, mere steps away from local commerce and the river, ample shade and beautiful sandstone picnic benches - I couldn't ask for a dreamier place to host this market!

With this exciting news comes a new set of rules which are set by the Town of Lyons, Boulder County, and the State of Colorado.

We’re excited to have you as part of the Lyons community 🌻 I actively support first-time and small-scale businesses and will help you navigate requirements. Paperwork can feel overwhelming, even when the intention is simply to operate safely in a public park. It is my hope that by sharing knowledge and resources, vendors of all sizes will have the opportunity to participate. The goal is to expand access to healthy food not only for Lyons but the smaller mountain communities such as Pinewood Springs, Big Elk Meadows, Riverside, Ferncliff, and Allenspark.

    1. Vendor Application($45)

      • Let me know who you are, what you're selling, and how frequently you wish to attend

      • Cost of application supports local food access efforts

      • Sales Tax License & General Liability Insurance required after acceptance (due April 29th)

    2. General Liability Insurance

      • This policy must list Abundant Spaces LLC as additionally insured

      • Minimum: $1,000,000 - Why $1,000,000 Insurance Is Required
        The $1,000,000 liability limit is a standard requirement for events held on public property. It ensures that if an unexpected accident or injury occurs, such as a customer being hurt at a booth, there is enough insurance to cover medical costs, legal expenses, and potential claims without putting vendors, the market, or the Town at financial risk. Even minor incidents can become expensive very quickly, and this limit reflects today’s real-world costs. For most vendors, a $1M policy is the normal, affordable baseline used at farmers markets and events nationwide, typically costing about $75-$300 per year for general vendors.

    3. Sales Tax License

      • Colorado Sales Tax License ($16 + $50 deposit for first time sellers, $16 may be prorated depending on when you apply within the two year cycle) current cycle is 2025-2027. The deposit comes back to you once you begin remitting sales tax.

      • The Town of Lyons has it's own sales tax you must collect and remit to the Colorado Department of Revenue - see brochure for details

      • Town of Lyons Business License - ONLY FOR BUSINESSES OPERATING FULL TIME IN LYONS ($50 annually)

  • The market will be held every Sunday 9a-1p in Sandstone Park, from May 10th - October 4th. There will be no market on July 26th or August 9th.

    Vendors will pay $25 per booth, per attendance. You will be given the password to the Vendor Portal upon acceptance. Here is where you will find your weekly assignments and be able to interact with other vendors and the market manager. All information posted here will also come directly to your email inbox. You will have the option to pay vendor fees by cash, check, or through the Vendor Portal - either all up front or weekly.

    Vendors will be responsible for providing their own pop-up tent, tent weights, and table. You will be allotted one 10x10ft space, unless you request more which will change your weekly vendor booth fee. The park has electric boxes for vendors requiring hookup. Please bring your own extension cords. There is no WiFi in the park, so be prepared for offline payments or bring your own hotspot.

  • While music is the obvious entertainment at a Farmers Market, Lyons is a creative town and we hope to spotlight a variety of artists on the central amphitheater. Additionally, we’re looking for community partners to either occupy the stage with their message or set up a non-selling booth. If you're interested in this platform, apply here. Lyons Local Passport Partner

A simple way to connect the market with local businesses!

The Lyons Local Passport is a small, physical card that market visitors carry with them as they explore town.

When they visit participating businesses and support/make a purchase, they receive a sticker. This encourages movement, discovery, and local connection all season long.

How it works:

  • A visitor picks up a passport at the market

  • They support your shop

  • You offer the small market sticker (provided by the market manager)

  • They continue exploring

  • Visitor returns their completed passport to the market info booth for prizes

Why participate:

  • Brings new people into your space

  • Connects your business to the broader market ecosystem

  • Low effort, low cost

What we ask:

  • Keep a small set of stickers at your counter (email the market manager if you run out of stickers)

  • Offer one when someone presents their passport

  • $125 for partnership listing on the passport + website

  • Send your logo + a small blurb about your business to abundant.spaces@gmail.com
